Overview of the Program

The Fresno Center has contracted with the County of Fresno’s Department of Social Services (DSS) to provide mental health treatment to families who are recipients of California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) Welfare-to-Work (WTW) benefits. The provided services will be for clients with mild to moderate mental health symptoms and will serve clients both in the city of Fresno and rural Fresno County.

The goal of the program is to remove mental health barriers to employment by providing mental health services, resulting in clients engaging in school, employment, or approved WTW activities; thus, resulting in clients transitioning from welfare to work.
