Holistic– Cultural Broker II (1x position FT)
Under the direction of the Holistic Wellness Program Director, the CB II will be responsible for planning and facilitating activities that support the wellness of the ‘whole person’ including but not limited to, stigma reduction activities, outreach, education on signs and symptoms of mental health disorders. CB II provides culturally and linguistically appropriate activities, training, linkage, and referral services which are specifically designed for the various targeted groups. CB II also provides crosscultural education and education on complementary mental health practices. The workshops, activities and education classes support positive mental health through a holistic approach. CB II assists in the development, implementation, and coordination of activities, and resources which directly support Holistic program individuals and/or family members through cultural community engagement, linkage, and referral. CB II will be appropriately trained in providing services in a culturally sensitive manner and be proficient in using computers and navigating resources, writing basic reports, maintaining accurate records and observe information confidentiality, working harmoniously with Holistic program individuals and co-workers, and attend mandatory trainings, supervision, and scheduled meetings. CBANS – Peer Support Specialist (1x position FT)
The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) is an essential part of the CBANS program. PSSs will be reflective of the traditionally unserved/underserved communities the program serves. The PSS is a person with “lived experience” who walks alongside clients to help provide timely access to services including the array of prevention and early intervention activities in the community. PSSs work to actively mitigate barriers to care and are effective disseminators of information, acting as a bridge between behavioral health providers and the unserved/underserved communities by facilitating linkage to services. PSSs assist in reducing health disparities though culturally appropriate community engagement, referral, and navigation for those identified unserved/underserved groups to behavioral health services in the Fresno County Behavioral Health system of care. PSSs are responsible for increasing timely access to care through advocacy, outreach, engagement, life skills education, and knowledge about mental health services. Additionally, PSSs help support, monitor, inform, empower, and assist individuals and their families utilizing a strength-based model, facilitating peer-to-peer assistance as a part of a team setting.
