Celebrate Pride Month June 2024

Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade

June 1, 2024

Through collaborative work with Stop the Hate Program, Holistic Wellness Program, and CBANS (Cultural-Based Access & Navigation Support), the Fresno Center calls for greater unity, visibility, and equity for the LGBTQ+ community. This month provides time to reflect on the history and milestones of the past 50 years.
The Fresno Center partnered up with Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal to participate in the Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade in the Tower District, shining a spotlight on LGBTQ+ culture, achievements, and activism. The annual commemoration honors LGBTQ+ community members and their supporters and allies.

Fresno's 4th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Flag Raising Ceremony

June 7, 2024

On Friday, June 7th, The Fresno Center’s Stop The Hate program had the distinct honor to represent the Stop The Hate Coalition in accepting a Stop the Hate resolution at city hall during Fresno’s 4th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Flag raising ceremony. The Stop The Hate Coalition has tirelessly convened numerous townhall meetings to amplify the crucial message that hate has no place in our communities and is not tolerated. As this day marks a milestone in the coalition’s efforts to stop the hate and spread of love in our communities. The Fresno Center supports Fresno City Council members in their effort to commemorate the LQBTQ + community.

Youth Focus Group Workshop

June 20, 2024

Thanks to The Center of Sierra Foundation and Anthem Blue Cross in our Stop the Hate initiatives!
The Stop the Hate Program fostered meaningful connections with the Hmong LGBTQ+ youth by addressing cultural barriers through educational means. We encouraged curiosity and connection through a humanity lens, making strides towards a more inclusive and understanding community.

Pride Month

Recap

@thefresnocenter The Fresno Center wants to share a recap of this month’s event, in which we had the opportunity to celebrate Pride Month and address hate toward the LGBTQ community. We are proud of the dedication of our team to receive a Resolution from the city of Fresno, march in the Fresno Rainbow Parade, and host LGBTQ educational awareness workshops for both our elderly and youths. We send a message to you all that hate has no place here! That pride should not be celebrated only once a year. You should be proud of everything that makes you who you are 365 days a year! 🏳️‍🌈 We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Anthem Blue Cross for your sponsorship to make these events possible. #pride2024 #transformativelove #stopthehate @fresnoalliance @Fresno County @Mayor Jerry Dyer ♬ Same Love (Instrumental Version) – NonStop Music
